Mr J.E.Eastham,
Admiral Tex.
Dear Uncle & all:

You may be a little surprised to get a letter from me, but here goes for a surprise. How are you all any way? We are still holding this dry country down the best we can, but it sure is dull. Well; The folks want me to write you to see if you know what company Grand pa Hadley was in, and if he served long enough in the confederacy for aunt Ann to have any chance to get a pention. If you know, and can tell us of aone other man who knows, it is just possible that she might get enough to help her outa little, as they need something. If I could see any way that I could help them, it would be a pleasure to do so, but it crouds us to get by, as it is. I know that grand pa went to the army, and that pa got sick, and he had to bring him home, so that is all I know about it.

If you can tell us anything, please let me know, and I will see what can be done, if anything. Hope they get a good oil well on the Cordwent place, may be you can get some good money out of yours.

What do you think of Furgeson now? Wish I could see you and tease you a little, for you always take things like they are meant, in a good humor. Hoping this finds you all well, as it leaves us, I am, with best wishes,

Your nephew,

R E Hadley
